The Styling Edit - The Boho Chic Bride

The Styling Edit - The Boho Chic Bride

Working in the bridal industry is stimulating. You get to be part of such happy memorable moments that are quite glamorous too. I have a penchant for the glam, the glitz, the grandeur and to state it as it is,  weddings always leave me in  a happy place. Apart from the joy of two lives coming together, there is so much to draw inspiration from – the clothes, the jewellery, the décor, the photographs, the style. But it is also one that can get easily monotonous -  repeated styles, replicated outfits, identical hairdos, cliched poses. And it is that dullness which inspired me to create the ShimmerMe Styling Edit series. My promise to you is that I’d bring you something new, something original with every post :-)

I have always been drawn to the soft and romantic feel of a boho wedding. The enchanting images on Pinterest deserve complete credit for the same. Putting my own spin to a Boho bridal theme has been on my mind ever since. I wanted to bring together something that will retain the essence of a Boho Chic bride – light fabrics; lots of flowers, clean makeup, loose hair, whimsical décor. And as I am looking back at the pictures now, I am super delighted and thrilled to share them with you.

Outfit Comfort chic is what best describes boho aesthetic. Light, airy fabrics that you can move around freely in are the choice for Boho brides. Sarees hold a special place in my heart and putting a desi spin to a boho chic bride is what I wanted to do. When I first saw this sheer organza fabric; its creamy yellow hue, its lightness, its dainty floral detailing; all of it spoke boho to me. And I found an instant match for the blouse in this embellished blouse piece - gilded enough for a bridal feel, subtle enough to retain the boho simplicity. Rosh and I agreed on a blouse design which is essentially a crop top with simple details like sheer organza sleeves and tie-ups that easily add on to the vibe.

Jewellery A raised neckline blouse leaves room to have fun with earrings. And when it comes to a boho loving bride, diamonds and rose gold are a dreamy choice. We found the perfect pair to elevate the look in these statement ear cuff drop diamond earrings from CJ Artisan Boutique . Playing with various cuts in scintillating diamonds , this pair portray a rain drop pattern with rose cut diamonds channelled together by round brilliant diamonds.

Statement rings are a perfect choice of jewellery while wearing full sleeve blouses. Inspired from an autumn tree leaf , the highlight of this ring is the couture marquise cut diamonds highlighted with round brilliant diamonds.

Makeup Boho inspired makeup is a personal favourite for its simplicity. It is minimal and one that doesn’t take away from your natural beauty. For Priyanka, I kept the makeup subtle with pops of pink on the lids, lips and cheeks. Why pink? It’s fresh; flattering on her complexion and beautifully contrasts the outfit and complements the burst of pink used in decor.

Hair Your wedding style should be an extension of who you are. If boho elegance is your vibe, an elaborate, up-do isn’t quite up your alley for bridal hairstyle. Deconstructed braids, twists and half-up hairstyles add a touch of finesse to an otherwise carefree style. That with a smattering of tiny elegant flowers like these hydrangeas will help you look your most beautiful.

Décor A bit whimsical, a bit mythical; a little carefree, a little relaxed! Boho chic weddings have a distinct soft and romantic feel that is earthy and inspired by nature and the beautiful outdoors. Garden weddings are filled with so much natural beauty that you might think it’s impossible to add more, but when that bohemian twist is applied, your wedding decor can be taken to a whole another level. That’s the beauty of boho: It feels just as relaxed as it is beautiful. We went with a lot of loose greenery, soft pink and peach blooms, drapery and gold accents to achieve an effortless boho vibe.

Flowers are an important element to every wedding, but at a boho wedding, they play an even more crucial role. Hand-tied arrangements are especially beautiful and lend an organic wedding to a boho wedding setting.

Dessert tables are great at adding a tasty flair to your event theme. Naked/semi-naked cakes are quite the rage right now and paired with an assortment of mismatched desserts perfectly fit the vibe of a boho garden wedding. A stunning backdrop for pretty pictures too!

I am elated seeing an idea in my head translate into a dreamy reality. And this would not have been possible without the involvement of an incredibly talented bunch of people. Each of them are experts in their respective fields and you must check out their work to make your events and celebrations special.

Brides-to-be, if you would like something different, something new, something memorable; I’d love to work with you to achieve all of that. You know how to find me :-)

Peace and love! xoxo…
