Shimmer through Summer
Who wouldn’t love a glow, a shimmer on the face that magically sails you through summer? While mercury soars high, melting MakeUp is the last thing you would want to worry about. My key for Summer MakeUp is ‘Keep it light, Keep it bright’.
So here is how you achieve the above look that is minimal and summery.
Base
When I say keep it light, it applies most to the base. Start with a good sunscreen. To achieve a natural and lasting base, I used Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Warm Honey. This formula is creamy and the oil controlling minerals in it help reduce the shine caused by sweat and humidity. The secret for application is keeping it as light as possible, just enough to even the skin tone. Alternatively you could use a lighter formula like a Tinted Moisturizer, which is again perfect for summer.
Eyes
To neutralize the discoloration under the eye, I used Bobbi Brown Corrector in Dark Bisque. I applied Creamy Concealer in Honey to conceal the darkness and Pale Yellow sheer powder to set the Concealer. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Nectar is used to add shimmer on the eyelids and to highlight inner corners of the eye and brow bone. Finished the look with just lining the upper lid with black eyeliner and lots of Mascara on the lashes. Lastly, I defined and filled in the brows with feathery strokes of Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil in Mahogany.
Cheeks
A pop of color on the apples of the cheeks can brighten up the face instantly. I used a creamy blush in Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Powder Pink to create a rosy cheek. Completed the cheeks with a dust of Nectar Shimmer Brick for a soft glow.
Lips
For your lips, pick that bright hue which screams summer. Coral, Peach, Pink are perfect for summer and layer a little bit of gloss in the center of your lips to highlight. For this look, I chose Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Pink, which is a semi- matte non-drying formula.
Highlighter
Ditch the shine and get the glow by highlighting high points of the face, where the sun would naturally hit. I opted for Hour Glass Ambient Lighting Edit to highlight the center of forehead, bridge of the nose, top of the cheekbones and Cupid’s bow.
