Indian Summer in a Saree

Indian Summer in a Saree

2022 seems to be the year of sarees for me! From laying my eyes on those that I’d like to add to my collection, to getting opportunities to parade myself in these stunners, to making a conscious effort to wear them more often, it certainly has been a fabulous start to my journey in 6 yards, hopefully a life long one :)

They say that a saree is for all seasons and this one is my pick for summer! A kora silk banarasi so light that you can literally roam the streets effortlessly in it and in a summer shade of lime yellow with muted floral motifs scattered in gold and silver - this one is a keeper! You can grab yourself one from Ektha by Prescila Joseph Chungath

Paired with a floral crop blouse that I designed that screams summer, I am in love with the palette and fabrics that are airy and appropriate for the season. A truly versatile blouse, you’d see me pair and wear it many different ways on the feed, soonish :)

Hair in a messy bun and makeup just the way I like it for summer - a soft shade of cocoa on the lids with generous coats of mascara, oodles of pink coral blush and a nourishing lip color in a similar shade is how I have brought the look together. I’m loving the NARS concealers, a recent addition to the kit in colour correcting and concealing the dark circles. Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in Golden Natural is as always the foundation of choice.

For me, wearing sarees have always been a thing reserved for occasions and even then as a last option. When I really think about it, it was just the weight of all that fabric, the heaviness which never appealed to me. The wide choice of light, soft and breathable sarees is changing that perspective. You’ll see a lot more of saree styling from me in the weeks and months ahead, do stay tuned :)
